The pirates then sent the second officer to inform them that if they came out and proceeded to the Captain's Cabin they would not be molested. This they thought it safer to do, and they left their Cabins accordingly. They were then escorted by a guard of pirates to the Captain's Cabin where they were shut up and remained for eight hours guarded by sentries.
